LOS ANGELES POLICE PROTECTIVE LEAGUE
ENDORSES ALEX PADILLA FOR SENATE
LOS
ANGELES –
The Los Angeles Police Protective League (LAPPL) today
announced its endorsement of Los Angeles
City Council President Alex Padilla in his campaign for
the 20th State Senate District. LAPPL represents nearly
9,000 rank and file members of the Los Angeles Police Department.
"We have been proud to work with Council President
Alex Padilla to make our neighborhoods safer," said
LAPPL President Bob Baker. "With his support, we’ve
been able to put more officers in Los Angeles neighborhoods
and we’re working to ensure that the men and women
of the LAPD have the resources we need to protect and serve
Los Angeles neighborhoods. I am confident that in the State
Senate he will be a strong supporter of law enforcement
and safe communities for Los Angeles families."
"The Police Protective League represents thousands
of men and women who put their lives on the line everyday
to ensure the safety of our neighborhoods. They know what
it takes to make our communities safer, and I’m honored
to have their support," said Councilmember Padilla.
Councilmember Padilla is running for the State Senate
seat being vacated by State Senator Richard Alarcon. The
primary election will be held in June 2006.
