FOR ALEX PADILLA’S SENATE CAMPAIGN
LOS
ANGELES – Communication
Workers of America (CWA) Locals 9400, 9505, 9510, and
9586 as well as NABET-CWA
Local 53 today joined the growing coalition of individuals
and organization supporting Los Angeles City Councilmember
Alex Padilla in his campaign for the 20th State Senate
District.
“Alex is a proven leader on issues that working
families care about – economic security, health care,
and opportunities for our children,” said CWA Local
9400 President Micheal Hartigan. “We’re going
to be there for him in this election.”
“We believe Alex is the best candidate in this
race because he’s willing to stand up for working
men and women. He’s worked to give our young people
more job training and educational opportunities. We want
him to continue fighting for us in Sacramento," said
CWA Local 9505 President Rocio Blanco.
“Alex Padilla will be a great leader for us in
the State Senate. We’re looking forward to working
with him to make sure that bringing more quality jobs to
our state and standing up for workers are priorities for
California. He’s got the experience and leadership
to get the job done,” said CWA Local 9510 President
Joseph Venegas.
“Alex understands the needs of the San Fernando
Valley’s working families because he grew up in one.
When he goes to Sacramento, we’re confident that
Alex will be a champion for the things we care about – from
public schools to job opportunities to safe neighborhoods,” said
CWA Local 9586 President Gregg W. Gibson.
“Alex has been by our side when our members needed
support to ensure they received fair wages, benefits, and
opportunities to organize. His experience presiding over
the Los Angeles City Council makes Alex a great candidate
for Senator. We’re proud to support his campaign
for State Senate,” said NABET-CWA Local 53 President Leroy Jackson.
“In this information age, the members of CWA are
crucial to the strength of our nation’s economy.
I am honored that they are supporting my campaign for State
Senate,” said Councilmember Padilla
