IBEW LOCAL 11 ENDORSES PADILLA FOR SENATE

ANGELES – The International Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers (IBEW) Local 11 today announced its support
for Los Angeles City Councilmember Alex Padilla in
his campaign for the 20th State Senate District.
“Our members are proud to stand with Alex Padilla in his campaign for Senate.
He’s been a great leader for us in Los Angeles, and has stood with working
families on issues that matter to us. We know he’ll continue to be an advocate
for working people when he gets to the State Senate,” said IBEW Local 11
President Marvin Kropke.
“I am proud to have the support of electrical workers and their families," said
Councilmember Padilla. “I look forward to working with IBEW to ensure that
the Valley’s working families have the economic opportunities they deserve.”
IBEW Local 11 represents more than 8,000 members in Southern California who work
in a variety of fields, including utilities, telecommunications, broadcasting,
manufacturing, and railroads.
Councilmember Padilla is running for the State Senate
seat being vacated by State Senator Richard Alarcon.
The primary election will be held in June 2006.
IBEW Local 11 joins a growing list of leaders and organizations
who have endorsed Alex Padilla for State Senate, including
